We sent Felicity on her maiden voyage this morning. Twice.
I wanted a fun and engaging way to study the 50 states with my 8 year old, when I remembered my friend, Sarah E., and her kids mailing paper dolls around the country and keeping track of their travels on a wall map. When I asked her how she did it, she mentioned that next time she would consider sending the dolls electronically. Thanks for the inspiration, Sarah!
Two e-mail messages with Felicity's picture attached made their way to Kansas and New Jersey this morning. We're hoping our friends will print Felicity and take her somewhere interesting in their state. When they send us a pic of where she's been, we'll share it here with you. As Felicity travels, we will continue a systematic study of the states, focusing on one state each week.
This technologically-challenged homeschool mom is enjoying her new blogging experience. I just have to remember that this is a school project, so I better share the next post with my student!
